Helping Women and Girls Live Their Dreams
A global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment, specifically those facing significant obstacles.
Who We Are:
Soroptimist means “best for women, ” which the organization strives to achieve. Soroptimists are women at their best, working to help other women to be their best.
Throughout history and still, to this day, women throughout the world face obstacles solely because of their gender. They disproportionately suffer from poverty and discrimination. For this reason, Soroptimist, an organization of and by women, chooses to focus on the special challenges facing women and girls.
Members of Soroptimist in the Sierra Pacific Region belong to local clubs ranging from Taft to San Francisco, Los Banos to Mariposa, and San Mateo to San Luis Obispo. In addition to providing women and girls with access to education, these club members also participate in global organization-wide programs.
KEEP MOVING FORWARD
